Cacao, from the ancient Mesoamerican word kakawa, has been part of human culture for over 4000 years; used in rituals, as a currency and of course as the main ingredient of chocolate.

Our 100% Certified Organic Peruvian Ceremonial Cacao Paste Chunks of the Criollo variety have a rich chocolatey flavour and a smooth texture. Cacao, also called cocoa sometimes, is rich in protein, a range of antioxidants such as theobromine, as well as the minerals copper, iron, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc amongst others. The Cacao growers we source from are UTZ-certified, which sets guidelines for sustainable farming methods, favourable working conditions and fair remuneration for the producers.
